Booking Terms

Last updated: November 2026

These terms govern bookings made through siciliahost.com, both for properties managed directly by SiciliaHost and for those listed by verified hosts on the platform.

Who we are

SiciliaHost is a project by Alessandro Lo Verde, with more than 15 years of experience in tourist hospitality in Sicily, including 13 years as an Airbnb host. The site presents selected holiday homes and puts guests and hosts in direct contact: payments are made directly between guest and host, with neither SiciliaHost nor any other platform acting as a payment intermediary.

How a booking works

Selecting available dates and submitting your details creates a booking request, with no charge. The host checks availability and sends you, through SiciliaHost, the details to pay the deposit by PayPal or bank transfer. The booking is confirmed when the host receives the deposit; until then the request binds neither you nor the host. Before confirmation you communicate with the host through the site; after confirmation you are also shown their phone number and WhatsApp.

Price, deposit and balance

The price shown when you book is the price you will pay, subject to a valid discount code. This site does not handle payments: the deposit, 30% of the total, is paid directly to the host by bank transfer or PayPal, using the details shown on the payment page and in the email. The balance is paid directly to the host as arranged with them.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel free of charge up to 15 days before your arrival date: the host then refunds the deposit in full, by the same means used to pay it. If you cancel less than 15 days before arrival, the host keeps the deposit to cover the lost occupancy. To cancel, write to the host through SiciliaHost and to [email protected] quoting your booking code.

Guest obligations

Guests of legal age must follow the property's house rules, provided before arrival, and must supply identity documents for every occupant, needed to report them to public-security authorities (Alloggiati Web) as required by Italian law.

Right of withdrawal

As this is an accommodation service supplied for a specific period, under Article 59(n) of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005) the general 14-day withdrawal right for other distance purchases does not apply. The cancellation terms described above remain in force.

Liability

We aim to provide an accurate description of each property. We are not liable for events of force majeure that prevent a stay; in that case we will offer a refund or an alternative date.

Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by Italian law. For any complaint you can write to us directly at [email protected]; alternatively, if you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you can use the European online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
